Finding your Soul’s calling

Some spiritual traditions suggest that even before you were born on this Earth, the divine creator put deep into your heart the knowledge of what you’re supposed to do in your life, including what you’re meant to give and receive from this world.
From a spiritual perspective, it doesn’t matter if your deep calling is to be big or small, famous or publicly unknown, loved, or feared, a leader or a follower, or any combination of these and more. What matters most is to find the avenues of experience and expression that are right for your soul’s journey in this world at this time.
The challenge is to find your soul’s deep calling beneath all the layers of outer experiences and expectations that have been piled upon you throughout your life– from friends, family, schools, television, music, writings, movies, and more.
Spiritual wisdom and practices help you clear away the cobwebs of mediocre, unenthusiastic living so that you can experience joyful, passionate inspiration and discover and fulfill why you are here. Taking time to pay attention to your soul’s deep calling is a good use of that time!

Every day we experience things that cannot be explained. Some refer to these experiences as coincidences, accidents, or sheer luck. There is no such thing!
When we are true to ourselves and send out thoughts of our needs and desires, often what we persist in thinking comes into our lives. We bring those experiences that help us to learn and grow.
Please don’t shut yourself off from seeking out whatever it is you are searching for. It is wise to release all preconceived ideas or expectations about what you’ll find. In that way, you will be ready to absorb all the possibilities.
With an open mind, we can gain insight into ideas and expressions that we may have overlooked or not noticed at all.

Choice …
Choice is everything. The realization that we have the choice in every single life situation of how to respond is empowerment at the very highest level. Choosing from a blank canvas what we wish to create is even more empowering, and if I have one new year wish for humanity, it is that we all come to appreciate the amazing love and goodness that we are all capable of generating and passing on.
Your perception drives your reality

Many of life’s challenges come from worrying about the actions and behaviors of other people. When you find yourself worrying about what you ‘don’t’ have, make a conscious choice to instead think about what you ‘do’ have. When you change your perceptions, you change your reality.
The key is to change your thinking from focusing on what you want but don’t have.. to wanting what you have. Hope in the positive and avoid composing your hopes as negatives.
If you find that you conceive your hopes in negative terms, you maybe surprised to find that, in some way, you are hoping for the worst.. for something that is unlikely to happen, for your fears! Instead hope for what ‘will’ happen.
Thoughts are energy, and they are creative force— positive, hopeful thoughts create your positive, hopeful reality. Negative thinking is insidious. Sometimes, even when your actions are positive, the thoughts that drive them come from a negative perspective. This spills out into everyday life in ways you often don’t recognize.
Your life is always speaking

The only time I’ve ever made mistakes is when I didn’t listen. So what I know is, your life is always speaking to you. First in whispers… It’s subtle, those whispers. And if you don’t pay attention to the whispers, it gets louder and louder. Whispers are always messages, and if you don’t hear the message, the message turns into a problem. And if you don’t handle the problem, the problem turns into a crisis. And if you don’t handle the crisis, disaster. Your life is speaking to you. What is it saying?
Learning to See the Positive In Our Problems

Seeing life with a positive vision brings good energy and a healthy outlook to any experience. You can actually train yourself to look at everything that comes and goes from your life with the glasses of optimism. A touch of surrender and detachment also comes in handy when you’re looking to stay calm and contented in times of struggles and strife. And don’t forget to bring that all-important sense of humor!
The key to cultivating a positive vision is to trust in an ultimate universal goodness. This one shift of belief filters down through all the different areas of your life, including the way you experience and respond to problems. With trust, you can stay positive and focused appreciating and growing from whatever blessings or challenges come before you.
Looking at trials and tribulations with a positive eye isn’t meant to create more troubles or deny happiness. Au contraire! With a positive view, even troubles can bring happiness as they inspire you to improve yourself. Sometimes challenges act as tools that can pry you loose from a smaller worldview and push you ? running and screaming, if need be ? into precious new realms of spiritual awareness.
Anyone who wants to accomplish something great, whether in worldly or spiritual life, must sacrifice certain immediate wishes and comforts.
The road to success in any endeavor is to choose what is beneficial in the long run over what may be pleasant in the moment.
Seeing troubles with a positive eye doesn’t mean that you never experience suffering. Rather, even in the midst of suffering, you can simultaneously enter a place that’s free from suffering .. an awareness that reaches beyond the level of your body and the physical world into the realm of spirituality.
Practice discernment

As we continue on our spiritual path, it becomes ever so crucial for us to practice discernment. Discernment is a process of observing what is going on in our lives, and in our surroundings … then fully and intuitively feeling the energy and the impact of the circumstances surrounding us so we can discern what is right for us. This is not a matter of judgment, but a matter of standing in our own power, and using our free will and voice to choose what adds to our wholeness / our “completeness”…
Our Source of wisdom

Within each of us there is a source of wisdom that is ours and ours alone, and we can draw from it whenever we feel the weight of doubt influencing our ability to make decisions in a negative way. It is the inner voice we occasionally hear advising us during periods of uncertainty. Whether we label it the conscience or the heart of consciousness, this voice is usually quiet and unassuming, which means that it can be easily overshadowed by other concerns if we are not paying close attention. To hear what it has to say about our circumstances, we must listen carefully and attentively so that the wisdom it offers will make an impression upon us and guide us toward those alternatives that will prove most rewarding. Your hesitancy will disappear today when you trust in the truth your inner voice supplies.
Inner Voice.. Our Source of Wisdom
