Masonic Philosophy - Grand Lodge of Ohio

The philosophy of Freemasonry is probably the least understood of all subjects pertaining to our Craft. It is relatively easy for the individual Mason to obtain a reasonable knowledge of its symbolism. However, many Brethren sooner or later encounter philosophy in their search for knowledge within the framework of Masonry, and in doing so may feel that while some of their Brethren may understand it, to them it is incomprehensible. We can easily remove the feeling that Masonic philosophy is incomprehensible by defining it. The dictionary indicates that philosophy is "the love or pursuit of wisdom." it is divided into three branches: 1) natural, 2) moral, and 3) metaphysical philosophy. We can discard two of these categories. We are primarily interested in moral philosophy, since Freemasonry is a moral science. Hence to apply the above definition to Masonry, we must pursue wisdom in moral philosophy. Visit us to read more.

What separates these two genres is the extent to which the tellers themselves assess the tales in question as real beyond any question and culturally important, not whether they are any more or less objectively real.

Another method is to exchange ideas and thoughts with like-minded people. Sometimes, if this is combined by using stimulus material, the discussions can be even more interesting, dynamic, and ultimatly more useful. This is the purpose of this site, to promote ideas that Masons, and non-Masons may exchange ideas, views, or add their unique facts to it.
