Association of Oncology Social Work
The Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) is a non-profit, international organization dedicated to the enhancement of psychosocial services to people with cancer and their families. Created in 1984 by social workers interested in oncology and by existing national cancer organizations, AOSW is an expanding force of psychosocial oncology professionals. We strive to: Increase awareness of the psychosocial effects of cancer. Advance the practice of psychosocial interventions that enhance quality of life and recovery of persons with cancer and their families. Foster communication and support among psychosocial oncology care givers. Further the study of psychological and social effects of cancer through research and continuing education. Advocate for programs and policies to meet the psychosocial needs of oncology patients and their families. Promote liaison activities with other psychosocial oncology groups and professional oncology organizations. Promote the highest professional standards and ethics in the practice of oncology social work.

Clinical Social Work Federation, Inc.
Web site for the Clinical Social Workers Federation, to promote the highest standards of professional education and clinical practice. The Clinical Social Work Federation is a confederation of 31 state societies for clinical social work. Our state societies are formed as voluntary associations for the purpose of promoting the highest standards of professional education and clinical practice. Each society is active with legislative advocacy and lobbying efforts for adequate and appropriate mental health services and coverage at their state and national levels of government.
Beyond supporting the state societies' aims, the Board of the CSWF seeks to keep clinical social work visible and understood, to generate clinical research, and to provide professional training and publications on the national level.
Council of Nephrology Social Workers (CNSW)
Preventing kidney and urinary tract diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases and increasing the availability of organs for transplantation. The Council of Nephrology Social Workers (CNSW) functions as a professional membership council within the framework of the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and networks with other organizations, including the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), state and local governments, and private groups. CNSW's purpose is twofold: one, to assist patients and their families in dealing with the psychosocial stresses and lifestyle readjustments and facilitate a treatment program that will maximize rehabilitation potential; two, to support the federal regulations governing ESRD reimbursement in regard to standards for social work practice and in the definition of a qualified social worker.
A Free Information Resource on Social Work by NASW New York City Chapter
A free information library encompassing social work, reflecting health, managed care, mental health, welfare, substance abuse, disasters, ethics, and professional practice. Educational opportunities, meetings announced. Last February, the board of directors of the NYC-NASW voted to create the Center for Social Work Policy and Practice. The purpose is to “understand and advance the state of social work policy and practice on behalf of the communities we serve”.
The NYC-NASW Center will be involved in data gathering and, equally important, assuring that social work practice is supported in service delivery organizations. Also central is carrying out the vision of NASW’s recent three-year strategic plan that includes the objective of “promoting the value and visibility of the social work profession”.

Internet Social Worker is a free, teach yourself tutorial on the Web, aimed at students and lecturers in UK higher education who want to improve their Internet research and information skills. The tutorial takes around an hour to complete, offering a step-by-step guide to key Internet resources for social work, Internet searching, Web-site evaluation and Internet research skills. It includes quizzes, interactive exercises and a glossary of Internet terms. The tutorial has been written by Angela Upton, National Institute for Social Work. This is one of a set of tutorials called The RDN Virtual Training Suite, which offers Internet tutorials for more than 60 subjects taught in UK colleges and universities.
The Irish Association of Social Workers
The Irish Association of Social Workers (IASW) was founded in 1971. It is the national organisation of professional social workers in the Republic of Ireland. The Association is organised on a regional basis and along the lines of specialities within the social work profession. There are eight regional branches and about twenty special interest groups covering most areas of social work activity. The IASW is an active member of the International Federation of Social Workers, which represents professional social work associations from over 55 different countries with more than 350,000 Social Workers in all parts of the world.

Oregon State Board of Clinical Social Workers
The mission of the Board is to protect Oregonians through the licensing and regulation of clinical social workers. The State Board of Clinical Social Workers was created by the 1979 Legislature and authorized by ORS 675.510-675.600. The Board is composed of four Licensed Clinical Social Workers and three public citizens with an interest in social work. Members are appointed by the governor to four-year terms and are eligible for one reappointment. The mission of the Board is to protect the citizens of Oregon through the licensing and regulation of Clinical Social Workers. This is done by certifying Associates working toward licensing through a two-year Plan of Supervision, which is monitored by the Board through Six-month Evaluation Reports from the supervisors; licensing Clinical social workers from other locations; investigating consumer complaints against Associates or Licensed Clinical Social Workers; granting, denying or reinstating licenses; and requiring continuing education of Licensed Clinical Social Workers.
