"We believe wholeheartedly in marriage.
We believe in sacred partnership.
We believe in “soul-mates.”
We believe in the equality of the genders, and seek to
promote in every way we can, equal partnerships.
"We believe that marriage is a sacred
commitment made between two people — and the Creator
— before they come to us with their wedding plans.
Our job, as ministers, is to provide a joyous,
meaningful ceremony to help them publicly proclaim and
celebrate their commitment — with the blessings of the State,
their witnesses, and the implicit blessings of the
Creator.
"We believe that a commitment to marriage
that is made in love — and with the sincere intent to nurture
and care for each other — is already sacred in the eyes of the
Creator.
We welcome all who come to us in that spirit, including
those who are concerned about the blessings of a religious
institution because of divorce or expecting a
child.
"We welcome couples who have experienced
divorce. We
do not regard this as a failure, but rather as an experience
that can teach and strengthen personal and relationship
values, if it is understood in that way. We are honored to
officiate at the marriage of couples who have healed and grown
through past relationship experiences; who have found a level
of sacred commitment that they wish to
acknowledge.
“We also welcome couples
who are blending families, or who have already had a child, or
children, together. We believe that children are always
a blessing, and our ceremonies honor them as a joyous
responsibility of true marriage commitment. Such
acknowledgment truly deepens the respect between families and
enriches the marriage which joins them."
