Dealing with change
Change affects us all in different ways. The ways we deal with changes are as different as the individual him/herself. Sometimes change is dramatic and drastic. For others it could be as easy and welcoming as fresh new day.
Just like the seasons change, our life changes. Changing your life requires faith, dedication, and perseverance. Did you know that the true test of intelligence is not how much we know how to do, but how we behave when we don't know what to do.
Some people know that they need changes in their lives but continue to live a life that they are no longer satisfied with. People stay in relationships that aren't good for them. People keep jobs that they are not happy with. There is nothing wrong with change.
We have to be open to the change that
is coming and willing to learn the
lesson that this change has for us.
Learn to accept change as a positive
force in your life.
You may have heard this expression. My favorite college professor said it to me often. Well, it's true. One of the paradoxes of creative living is that by talking ourselves lightly, we are better able to frame ourselves and our work more seriously. We do our best discovering when we can stop panicking about where the money is coming from and start focusing on how we have always found ways to meet our needs. Try interrupting the gremlins in your head that tell you to push harder, do more, work longer, ect. This is the old way...
Change - or you will be changed. In
other words, if you don't change of your
own volition, change will be forced on
you. Change is inevitable. In fact, I'd
bet the farm on it.
Ah, change - don't you love it? It's the
one thing that will never let you down.
Sometimes we can see it coming and
prepare for it. But just as often it
sneaks up on us and takes us by
surprise. (And I don't know about you,
but I don't care much for that!)Still it's inevitable given all the
change cycles that exist in our lives.
First there's birth and death and all
the living and growing we do in between.
Then there are the changes we experience
in the economy, changes in government,
changes in the world. The
unpredictability of weather and other
forces of nature. Reversals and setbacks
in our health, our fortunes, our
families. All these things spell changes
of some sort or another sooner or later.
Some changes are just downright awful
and we wonder why we have to go through
them at all. Why do loved ones have to
die? Why do people lose their jobs? Why
do houses burn down? Why do traffic
accidents happen? Wars, riots, floods,
earthquakes, murders. These things are
bad news all around and you may be
hard-pressed to find anything positive
in them.
But they may also force you to stop what
you're doing, to examine your life, your
intentions, your path. Where are you
going? What do you really want out of
life? Are your actions taking you in
that direction? Serious change forces
you to take time out, to think, to
contemplate, and to consider what is
really important to you.
Whatever you decide will require that
change take place. Can't avoid it. Can't
get around it. But such change is not
necessarily for the worse. And something
good will always emerge from it.
If Change Is A Must .. Create a Future Different From Your Past
Standing in the midst of nothingness yet everything, is what creates a future different from our past. When the light comes on, when we bring the light, we then feel relief in Being who we are. Your True Nature. No explanations needed. No compromises granted. No alternatives to the issue. We just stand in nothingness and create a future that is extraordinary. That is how God did it. BE who we are. Live what we affirm. It is then that we are Peaceful and reassured. It is then that conflict will cease.
We have been experiencing changes all our lives, thus one tiny step (change) shouldn’t be magnified in a manner that hurts our potential to self-empowerment. Being able to acknowledge this and be willing to appreciate the change as a process of growing up and getting empowered would be the best attitude to help ease the pain of any kind of transition. Life is an odd thing. Being alive is not.
